Brad Johns brings over 25 years of private equity, venture capital, business development, product management and manufacturing experience to the firm. Based in Calgary, Brad spends his time finding and scaling, emerging growth opportunities in the enterprise process, energy and industrial sectors. Brad also manages the Accelerate Funds II and III which are Alberta based funds focused on seed investments, is a member and past Chairman of the A100, is on the board of the VCAA and volunteers as a coach/mentor with the VMSA.
Brad leads Yaletown’s investments in ThoughExchange, Userful, Showbie, and LoginRadius, and focuses on enterprise and industrial technologies that transform traditional processes. He previously led the firm’s investments in Chaordix (acquired by Benevity), Monexa (acquired by Netsuite), and Shadow Networks (acquired by Acalvio).
Prior to joining Yaletown, Brad was a partner at Moneta Capital where he was responsible for information and industrial technology investments and vice president of Launchworks, a venture capital firm which was among the top performers in its vintage. Earlier in his career, he was an executive at global communications-giant, Nortel, providing leadership in manufacturing and product management in Canada and the UK.
Brad holds a B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University, an M.Eng in Systems Engineering from McMaster University, and an MBA from INSEAD.
