Yaletown and others observe that blockbuster deals may be masking a capital crunch for tech ventures in growth stage past startup and pre-exit.As Dingman notes, “ ..a serious lack of local funding plagues mid-level Canadian tech startups... When startups begin earning revenue ... and need growth funding, they can’t self-finance, the funnel narrows and fewer financiers are still in the ring."
