With Strong Growth Momentum, Finn AI Raises $10 million
October 22, 2018
We are proud to have co-led Finn AI’s $10 million Series A financing with our friends at Flying Fish Partners. The financing round also includes two new investors: BDC Capital’s Women in Technology (WIT) Fund and the New York-based 1843 Capital, an early stage, technology venture firm advocating for gender equity to generate superior returns.
Finn AI will use the new funding to accelerate its growth momentum in North America and Europe and extend its core product capabilities for existing clients such as Bank of Montreal, ATB Financial and Commonwealth Bank.
Founded in 2014, Finn AI builds simple, easy-to-use conversational banking platforms for financial institutions so their customers can easily manage their money. Finn AI was the first investment of our Innovation Growth Fund back in October 2017.
The participation of BDC Capital’s WIT fund and 1843 Capital also highlights the importance of greater diverse teams within technology, a foundational value that both Yaletown and the Innovation Growth Fund are built upon and one that forms a vital part of informing our investment decisions.
We also want to wish a warm welcome to Linda Wittich, who joins Finn AI as Managing Director, Global Sales & Strategic Account Management. A financial services veteran, Linda previously held a variety of sales leadership and product development roles at firms such as Broadridge and Citi. She was recently Strategic Delivery Executive with IBM for their AI-based Watson for Wealth solutions.
The whole team at Yaletown congratulates our friends at Finn AI, not only for the successful financing round, but also for their strong commitment to making the tech industry more inclusive and more diverse!
