Joan joined Yaletown in 2019. She has extensive experience in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting,  and taxation in various industries, including Public Practices, Aboriginal Government Organizations, and Non-For-Profit Entity.                

Prior to joining Yaletown, Joan was controller of Det'on Cho Corporation (DCC), an Economic Development Arm of Yellowknife Dene First Nation. She was a lead of the finance department of the corporation and its subsidiaries. Prior to DCC, Joan was financial controller of Gwich'in Development Corporation, 100% owned subsidiary of Gwich'in Tribal Council.

Joan has a Certified General Accountant Designation. She also holds a Bachelor of Art Degree from Beijing University of China.
